Watch How Persona 5 Starts Out With A Casino Heist Escape Scene
Atlus shared the latest look at Persona 5 during their NicoNico Live stream event, with a video showcasing how the game starts out with a casino heist escape scene.
Keep in mind that the video contains major spoilers, so those of you who wish to avoid any should probably keep away from this one along with the following text below.
The gameplay begins at the 2:15 mark of the video. You can hear familiar voices but they aren’t indicated by their names, as the scene takes place early in the game. The escape will have you jump from platform to platform as you make your way out of the casino while the security try to stop you.
As it turns out, the security in the casino appear to be some kind of Shadow that you’ll eventually need to fight. From here, “Joker” will attempt to make an escape but things don’t go as expected as the exit wasn’t where it was supposed to be. That said, the protagonist takes an alternate route which ends up not working out. After being captured, he was told that someone had sold him out.
The next part shows an interrogation scene, where you’ll be prompted to select a difficulty for the game. The choices are Safety, Easy, Normal, and Hard. Safety is for those who wish to focus more on the story and you’ll get free revives whenever you fall in combat. Picking Safety won’t allow you to change it afterwards. The other three modes will allow you to switch whenever, and none of them will have any differences in the story.
It’s also interesting to see how you’ll get to choose the protagonist’s name when signing a form during the interrogation scene. If you’re wondering what Atlus used in the video, they basically went with “Prota Gonist” so we don’t have an “official” name for him yet.
Persona 5 is releasing in Japan on September 15, 2016 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3. The game will release on February 14 in North and South America for PlayStation 4. Check out our earlier report for a look at the new free-roam mode that is said to be as big as Persona 4.
